Siri Brochman

About:

Siri Brochman (b. 1997, Stillwater, MN) is a living artist. She is currently pursuing her MFA at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, NYC. Working across both abstract and figurative realms, her practice explores themes of empire, movement, escapism, atmospheric conditions, and heightened emotional states that can be dual sided, exploring how neurons that wire together fire together.

She is haunted by her background working in cancer research and her understanding of the decay of the human body and the reflection of emotional states through personal histories. This work shaped her perspective on the strain of industrial capitalism on the human body and environment. The impact of witnessing a population of cancer patients poisoned by decades of unregulated industrial waste permeates her portfolio. This inquiry considers how the human body and psyche might adapt to our changing world and evolving trends.

She looks to the global stage to dissect dynamism and themes of aggression and violence. Her interest in the interwar period influences her use of color, paint application techniques, and forms.

Her upcoming group exhibitions include Near Kills at AS220, opening December 5th 2025 and Redacted at SVA Chelsea Gallery, opening in 2026. She has exhibited numerous times in Providence, RI. Her work has been presented in the shows Go! (2025), Something Wicked (2025), Sweet Nothings (2025), and Who Goes There? (2024) at East Manning Projects. She has shown in the group exhibition Dear Survivor (2025) at Sojourner House. She showed with Artist Patrick Pryor in the Spring Studio Sessions (2022) at Traffic Cone Gallery.
